if you do it right, such as creating quality content regularly, mantain and improve site loading speed, on-page and off-page, etc
Imo, in 6 months at most, you will already start to see some progress and increase in traffic

It typically takes 3 to 6 months of consistent SEO efforts to see significant results on a blog website.
It is not like you do seo once and then rank forever. You have to keep making backlinks in order to rank. It is thus an ongoing process.

You can never be sure how long it will take, which is why I always recommend building backlinks consistently and regularly updating your sites. Google's algo is always a work in progress, and it can take a few months to see your first positions on the search engine.
