How much time do you spend writting articles ?

Writing an article usually takes me 1 or 2 hours, but that's a newspaper article (as I'm also a journalist) about 8k-10k words.
However, my advise is that you would better spend some time researching the niche, even if it takes you a day or two. But after that, it will be much more easier to write those kind of articles.

10k words in 1 hour? That would put you at 166wpm. And that's if you would be only typing like a robot and not thinking what you're writing, not making any changes, not re-reading your article, etc.

My typing speed is around 120wpm and I'm considered very fast. An average person types around 50wpm.

Something's a bit off here, lol.
 
Depending on what it is, some articles I can write in under 10 minutes. Others take WEEKS of research, writing, sending over a draft to get reviewed by editors and product/service owners, getting permission to use their images, etc. Take the time to study your niche, and it will become easier, trust me. Once you have a system down, you'll learn how to research quicker, write faster and be more efficient. Practice, practice, practice.
 
just scrape the article and spin them. there are some software can do for you.
 
You are right mate! @op, You don't need to get worry of how much you know about. Just write down it by yourself. Still you bother about your knowledge then just buy articles or hire a native English writer to get quality and unique content.

It takes me about 10 minutes or less to write 500 word articles. I am a pretty fast writer in general, and usually only write for simpler niches, which helps. The best advice I can give is to not over think what you are writing. This slows you down so much. Just write as if you were talking about the subject, and if you are a fast enough typer you can get the article finished pretty fast. Keep in mind, that you are writing for search engines and not people so every article does not need to be a work of art.

If you are writing for people, than disregard my advice, as most of my writing is done for only SEO purposes.

If it's a topic I have expertise in, I might complete an article in 10 to 15 minutes. Your 3 hour/1000 word for an unknown topic isn't bad. It takes time to research a topic you're not familiar with and turn what you've learned into a good quality original work. If you're in a hurry, you could try subscribing to competitor blogs to see what topics are hot at the moment and/or set up Google alerts for your topic to catch the latest news and blog posts. A few weeks ago I learned about repost.us and am toying with the idea of writing intros to some of the articles they feed. Hope that helps.
 
For me 1000 words is about an hour on a subject I am familiar with, but for a new niche, longer. I think if you are planning on writing several articles for it, I would spend half a day on the net researching , collating information and the kind of language typically used in that niche, and print it all out.

With that in front of me articles are done in about an hour and a half. The thing is, its better to do it right, once. Those articles wont be going away, and a few hours work isnt so bad when they could help you earn for the life of the website.
 
I usually spin it, and then rewrite the spun article. It takes me about 10 minutes, but if I want real quality then it takes me about 20 minutes.
 
If u want really high quality article mean u need to analyse about your topic and can start writing. but quality is big matter for good result in search engine..
 
I write 5 articles of 300 words in an hour. At last i proof read it and then make backlinks or do posting.

I find it hard to give a simple answer. It depends on previous knowledge, the complexity of the subject. The best answer is whatever it takes. Sometimes a short skimming of some articles will suffice. Other times have to dig deep and read various points of view. Fiction can sometimes take a lot of research to get somewhat authentic background information. Sometimes research is done informally over long periods of time.
