I just dedicate 3-6 hours a week for research , usually on saturday morning with a good coffee.

Just one tipp from a guy who wasted 4-5 years doing a lot of different things in his early years (yes, all of them made kinda some money but not the "big bucks").
1. You don't want to be the Elon Musk of Business. You just dont. You don't want to open up new business idea every month. 1. you don't have the money/funding and 2. the knowledge. 3. it's stressfull.
2. What you want to be is Coca-Cola. Have one product and sell it for 100 years. Pick one niche or one product and sell it. Yes only one product. Not some bull-shit online marketing hack or the "newest shopify dropshipping" bullshit scam. Create one product and sell that for like forever. This can be a service, this can be a real product, doesn't matter.
I have three different businesses, almost all are very nichy and I can only do them, because my wife is the CEO of two of them. We have 3 products and we've been selling the same 3 products for the past 5 years. of course you make it better, you adjust to the time, but you don't want to research, research, research ect. that's a fucking waste of time.
Find a product, and then market & sell. that's all you do. Every one of our businesses had the same revenue curve. First year something like 10k, 2nd year 50k, 3y 700k 4 & 5th year all of them between now 1-3 million in revenue because the market is capped i don't expert more "growth". also because we're only selling one product we can have everything "lean" - our before tax profit margins are above 70+%.
Selling only one product in a specific niche market won't make you a billionaire, but making 1 million per year? easy if you have the patience and 3-4 years to invest.

This procastination shite be eating deep. I keep holding up actions and keep reading endlessly.I have been feeling at a loose end for several weeks now. I feel like a noobie againas I don't know what I am going to work on next.
For a couple probably a few years now I had a clear path in my mind and was able to work on it without much thought. Porn upload and twitter, my main sources. So it was just a case of making them work, which took a long time but I think it was easy to feel I was on the right track as at the time when I began I already knew many people having success in these areas from all the huge threads on bhw at the time.
Now as I am looking for the new project/s to work on the water seems much more muddy. The terrain seems a lot more hidden by the fog of war, much less clear what is working for people. I noticed this change on bhw over the last couple of years (I lurked). People seem to keep their cards a lot closer to their chest now as to what is working and there doesn't seem to be as many success threads around.
Maybe I have not looked hard enough yet - I didn't browse the forum like that for a long time because of what I said above, that I had a couple of things I knew I had to work on and they took up all my time so wasn't on the lookout - but now as I dip back in looking with fresh eyes things certainly seem less transparent than they used to be.
And yes, of course, noone spells things out from a-z but it doesn't have to be a black and white thing with 'total spoonfeeding' vs 'no info exchanged whatsoever'. The whole point of the forum is sharing knowedlge between fellow marketers for success right?
Just seems a lot more detective work is needed now days.
Lol, I just realised what I wrote had little to do with the title, but it ties in in that I am rusty at reading the forums with an eye for finding a good method and those are the thoughts that have come to mind as I have begun looking again.

I've got the same feeling actually... I've been in IM and e-commerce for more than 7 years now. But last year I closed my last store, right now I am trying to come up with a new business... But I really can't seem to get a hold of a new idea, kinda frustrating :/
Can you share other platforms please

The methods are all fundamentally the same, they just require twists. Not much has changed in the past years. No one is going to tell you their twists/spoonfeed you, though.

One key to my happiness is learning new things so thats big for me. It excites me, gives me new ideas. To answer your question, I have to say 80% current methods, and 20% new methods.
