im opening a niche video site, where my site hosts user submitted videos. how much space do i need and who is the best host and deal?

Why? Embed the videos, if you self host it's going to cost you a fortune. Shared hosting accounts put a limit on file size you're uploading, so it's not actually unlimited.

if you consider hosting tos then you need a dedicated server for video site otherwise if some company permits then you can go for vps to start with

If you share your budget with us then we can guide you better otherwise you can buy your own server it will save your money and time and data as well. Shared hosting is only the good option when you need limited space but in your case your user will upload video on regular basics so this kind of hosting will not work for you.

should i buy my own server? i want to build my own video site. embed has doesnt have as good as a business model.

How much space do you need is depend on how many videos you want to host. The best host for this kind of stuffs is Amazon AWS. Check out their plan. They offer pay as you go.
