How much should I try to help?

So first of all I would like to point out that this place is amazing. I'm not trying to hate on the Moderators or anything like that.

So if you are like me and have learned a lot from this awesome forum, then you probably value it more and get a little grumpy when people screw up. By screwing up I mean posting threads in the wrong place, trying to indirectly sell or promote their products or simply just posting a fishy thread about something that clearly is not true and they just are wanting attention.

Should we take stuff like this more seriously and start reporting threads or posts more often. Or will it overload the Moderators? Also what should we do if the thread is simply in the wrong place? The report button states that . So we shouldn't really report a thread that is in the wrong place?

I was going to Contact a Moderator about this but I figured I would ask it in the lounge so we could all see what they have to say. Again, I hope the Mods don't get me wrong and think I am running them down. They are doing a awesome job! I just think we should help then a little more and keep this forum a little cleaner.

No one answered so I guess that no one really cares about quality of stuff around here. :damnit:
