How much should I pay per 100 words for good articles?

For $1 you get people who google and rewrite what they read there. If you need real articles written with full understanding of the product/service you might have to pay more. Well if it is for seo stuff that no one is really going to read, $1 articles are good enough.

You can pay $1/100 word for a good article. I also paying $6/600+ words article and their articles are good...
if you also paying, then its bloody well worth it.

You are probably looking for someone longer term, not just for one solitary article, right?
Hire ten or so writers for $1 each for a small article. Pick the best three or four who seem to "get it" (might be zero, depending on your standards - in which case start over with another 10) and have them write 1000 word article for $10 each. Pick best from this.
You've got to invest some to find the quality you want, especially if you want to scrape the bottom for the best pickings.

Quality content doesn't come for $1 per 100 words. If you have a site without a ton of interaction it won't matter but you get what you pay for and good writers charge. I normally find something that works for .04-.10 per word but on occasion I've paid up to .30-.50 and there are plenty of writers who charge more than that. You get what you pay with content, unless you just don't do your homework and get ripped off.
