How much should I charge for this service?

I run a web design business

Someone just contacted me through a client and asked if I would like to manage their site.

Hi , I am looking for somebody to look after my website This is a daily responsibility involving managing content , customers, products , pricing , marketing and admin.
Please confirm monthly cost and proposal..

since I have never done this.How much should I charge for this?

I have been looking at consulting fees on google their is no clear prices

if anyone else does this sort of thing.please advise me thank you

i think 150-200 is good money for this easy job..

Have you tried about.salary.com? Divide the annual salary with benefits by 250 for a daily rate. It's a good starting point anyway.

e.g. A web designer in New York, NY should be getting $106,342 pa = $425 per day (simples)

Figure about how much work you'll be doing, and decide how much your time is worth. Multiply those.

Or go on a flat rate. $xxx = up to 10 hours of work monthly, additional hours are $xxx

thank you for all the info guys.but I mean he wants me to manage it everyday and deal with his customers - surely I should charge more than $200??

Well here is an economical way of figuring out how much you should charge. First, find out how many hours per month is this job going to take you. Then, ask yourself how much money you could make during those hours if you worked on something else, such as designing websites. This is your opportunity cost. If you charge any less that this number you are simply wasting your time and money.

Agree with essence:you really red to know what an hour of your time is worth (what you can practically earn), then work out how many hours you'llbe working on this job (roughly), make an estimate based on that - and tell him as part of your proposal -
I estimate this would require 2hours per day @ 20 per hour, 5 days per week = 200 per week.

Theguy then has the opportunity to say no it would be more that 2 hours or less or whatever.

Everyone knows where they are that way.
