My friend's boss wants to hire me to make them a website. Since, I have not been into this business and have only been making websites for myself, I don't know how much should I charge. I'll be using wordpress platform and domain, hosting and plugins required will be funded by the company. What is the standard rate for this service?

just work out your hourly rate and add a bit, that should do it. You can also charge to maintain the site for them like updating plugins etc.

around $500 if you will be using a purchased wordpress theme , if you code it from scratch you can charge him up to $10k

I'll be using wordpress themes. I don't think they would agree on hourly.

How much do you want to get paid per hour?

It totally depends on the scope of the project. If you're simply building out a theme and a few pages/templates, 500-1000 is a good low rate with the "friend" discount and shouldn't take more than 2 weeks to get it all perfect.

If you're building beautiful page/post control (advanced custom fields, visual composer, gravity forms, etc) in addition, definitely head up to that 5000 mark.

The last contract I saw, the client was being charged $120/h for dev hours. 30-60/h is more common though and it depends on your skill level for sure. I'd just request time & half/quarter and track your hours.

Good luck and half fun :D

Bout 350.... The answer is how much you can charge him, how thick he is.

If he wants it bad enough, then he would agree to paying you hourly. Just because you are friends does not mean that he can take you!

i Would do it for like 300 usd and then monthly fee... like 50 usd?
