How much should I age a new account?

Hi,

I'm an old timer IG user and sadly I need to yet to fully understand all the new limits.
I currently own some good old accounts with a great ammount of followers (some of the accounts even kept growing after 2years of inactivity).

So, the fact is that I wanted to increase my situation by making new accounts. I tried to make a new account and started using Instagress to make it grow fast.

Been using it for 5 days, in which I got from 0 to 550 followers. I've been using "normal" speed (didn't want to stress it too much) and very researched and good tags for my niche.

I've only been using likes and follows. (It got up to like 2k followings in 5 days). After the first day I had to PV it and I got no problem with that, everything was going fine.

So I tought I wasn't going too hard on it.. if it wasn't for the fact that few hours ago the account got banned for botting.

Looks like it was a mistake and even "normal" speed was too much for a brand new account.. does anybody know how much time should I let an account "age" ?

Every account has its own limits, you'll have to find those, but reaching 2k in 5 days for a brand new account might be a bit to aggressive.

Some users already stated that they start their accounts by using Instagress and did not get banned, but you probably should focus on using slow settings rather than normal settings.

there is no number of days or months to say when an account is aged, I'd say it has to do with your overall behavior both liking/following and posting.

some go away with following 400, while others might get banned following 200.

Doesn't Instagress require you to Pv your account? If not and you got a PV request then it might probably be a sign that you're doing something unusual, since you can not an account even without having to PV it.

Ok I see! What I meant (just for no missunderstandings) is that I've reached 550 followers in 5 days, and that my account Followed 2k Users in 5 days.

I didn't know that these numbers were too much.

You know.. I still need to get used to this.. When I used to play harder few years ago I was used to bot 25k likes a day with a single account haha. Well that has drastically changed.

So you also say that getting a PV is somewhat a sign of the fact that probably I was exceeding with the limits?

I'm starting another new account right now and going in with slow settings 24/24 7/7 .. I hope I'll be luckier, well, wish me luck haha.

PS: Even if I do have some old big accounts, I don't want to risk them botting, since that's all I have. And those are like 3 years old accounts.

Having a PV means something went wrong.

It might be a low-quality bot. Incorrectly coded leaving footprints of an automated system.
It might be too much likes and follows.
It might be your profile, IP, country, etc.

They went much smarter in these "few years".

But they also have false-positives, that's why they implemented an "unban system".

I see, thank you for all the info !

An "unban system" ? Wasn't it there for years? I mean, I tried so many times to contact their support, but I've never received any replies (I even doubted that there was somebody reading the tickets haha).

those times are definitely over. You need to play safer now.

what longdouble was referring to is that IG bans if it detects some suspicious activity, but you can now apply back for the account by contacting them and sending them a pic of you holding a paper with a number, seems like a mugshot. They'll probably unban you after that, if you didn't exaggerate on the follows etc I guess. Many users already stated that they got their accounts back, so maybe they just ban and unban if they see you're really interested in the account.

IG is hitting hard on spammers, which - per se - is totally correct and understandable. All you have to do is playing safe.

my advice for brand new accounts is follow around 100-200 followers in the first week per day with LONG intervals (60-120 seconds). its not a race, after that i build up with 25 per day. hitting 2000 follows in 5 days is 400 a day, do you know a 'normal' person who would do that ?

I'll give you a small description of what I do and what is working for me: When I created new accounts, the first day I made the account look legitimate. Posts 3/4 posts per day (using the daily hashtags - #motivationmonday, #transformationtuesday, etc. I followed 30 people. Then the second day I made a few more posts and followed 5-10 people. I did the same for the rest of the week and the following week with interchanging follows and post amounts. I gradually increased the amount of people I follow/unfollow after about three weeks. I did this over multiple IPs with IPs assigned to specific accounts.

As of right now, I have 1-3 year old accounts with a large amount of followers. I have gotten my fair share of bans (5-10) but not on the large accounts. It was mostly because I crossed my IP or followed too many people at once.
