I'm buying some high PR domains and I'm just wondering what is general guideline - how much to pay / what is the price range for PRX domain with good backlink profile? I'm more interested about higher PR domains, but I guess it'll be useful for someone else if we get prices for lower PR domains too. I will update this post as we get more expert answers.

PR1 -
PR2 -
PR3 -
PR4 -
PR5 -
PR6 -
PR7 -

Edit. Forgot to say, I meant these for backlinking purposes only, sorry!

you want to buy dropped pr domain... ?? or real PR 6+

Depends on traffic more than PR
Does it come with content? How quick can you pick it up if it doesnt? (if you take more than a few days to repopulate it - you can kiss your PR goodbye)

PR6 - Content included so let's say 100,000 UVs a day - might pay $12,000+ for that
PR6 - no content, under 1000 UV's a day - might not pay $100 for that

Scritty

[again = CONTEXT - PR6 is just a function of inbound links. it means next to nothing on it's own.]

There are lots of variables such as the amount of traffic it's generating, the income e.t.c and if it's a parked domain that you just need for guest blog.

Anything from $250 to $10, 000+.

It will go up to thousands of dollars if the domain is receiving tons of real traffic daily and income.

Its not really a question of you asking how much you want to pay...its more a question of how much the market is dictating prices. Have you looked at domains that are available to buy and how much are they ? Cheapest place I have seen PR domains was on digital point but they are all obviously 301 redirects so Im not sure how long they would retain PR after you bought them... If you keep a close eye on Godaddy auctions some expiring pr domains do pop up often enough.

What's the difference between a "dropped" domain and an expired domain?

And what determines if a domain holds its PR or not? Especially through a transfer?

Unless it's on page PR, I wouldn't pay anything. If you are going to pay for links, they should be high quality not forum profiles...

Page rank doesn't mean what it used to. You really have to analyze the backlinks.

Hell, you could get a PR6, that's simply ranking cuz of a redirect.

But a real PR6, with good solid links...still depends on quality of links, but it could run between $5,000 - $10,000 these days on average, they've been going up as more people are getting htem.

As someone who has been in the business of PR domains for long, even before starting my BST here, I'd say traffic does NOT matter. I have seen PR6 domains being sold for over $1k (only those with very strong backlinks).

As for the others, I'd say almost $400-$500 for a strong PR4 domain name.
By strong I mean all the factors: Backlinks, DA, PA and Age

lol, 400-500 for a strong pr4. I can pick decent quality pr4s for 75-100 all day.

PR6 without content = $150 to $500 depend on backlinks
PR6 with content = $1000 onwards

P.S. always check the domain on wayback machine before you make the deal

Before buying anything, you should include factors such as alexa rank, domain authority, internal PRs, IBL / OBL and all similiar stuff. Also make sure to check the domain you're about to buy up at waybackmachine to see if the PR is legit / if the site is legit at all.

Why don't you enlighten us? I usually sell mine for such price.
Even PR4 expiring auctions of Godaddy end with +$400.
