How much resources (CPU and RAM) do scrapebox or gscraper need?

I want to buy and install scrapebox or gscraper on a VPS. Since I have not tried them before, I want to make sure if I can run them on a budget VPS.

Is 512MB RAM enough?

And more importantly, is the process of scraping CPU-intensive? as VPS providers care about fair usage of CPU.

No Scrapebox and Gscraper both use high Ram at least 2GB.

Consider getting a higer tier vps. Or even better, a good value dedicated server. Theres lots of deals on webhostingtalk.

The only thing about dedicated is you will likely need to pay for cpanel license. Also a bit more knowledge is required to setup your hosting environment than a virtual setup. But if you plan to run a decent campaign with your scrapers, its worth it.

Vultr or Digital Ocean or Dreamhost do have VPS hosting that would meet your needs for not too much.

I have just seen that once you cross over 40-50$ a month, if you dont mind the extra responsibility a dedicated server is best.

You're just starting out, so get to know the software first. You can even run it in a VM if your computer is powerful enough or another computer if you have one. But remember to use proxies, as you don't want google to blacklist your home IP

From my experience, Scrapebox crashed after a few hours on my laptops. With 2-4GB RAM. However, it works creamy with my 8-16GB desktops.

It depends on the amount of URLs scraped by scrapebox. Once it hits a few millions URLs you can start to see the CPU usage slowly increases. Currently I am using 6GB RAM and 6 cores. I can run two instances of Scrapebox. One is heavier in scraping than the other where it scrapes 20 millions URLs. You still need a good amount of RAM when you remove dups especially with a huge scrape.

I am using 4GB RAM for GSA,and which is the ideal configuration IMO.
