50MB per message sounds wild. Are you loading full profile vids or media before messaging? Even with headless + no media preload, that seems high. Might be worth packet-sniffing or proxy-logging to see what's eating that bandwidth. We’re not seeing anywhere near that on our end.
Interesting, I have similar situation. Manually going through the actions via chrome dev tools yields a transfer amount of ~300-400 kb on average, whereas, when I connect via playwright to control the browser via cdp remotely, the bandwidth usage spikes up to 9-10 mb per instagram dm. Is such a huge discrepancy between manually interacting and sending a DM vs via playwright supposed to be there? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Note both of these cases are using a headfull browser with network requests to images blocked in an attempt to reduce the bandwidth usage. Just manually clicking on a profile reduces it from 9-10 mb to 300 kb is a bit strange i think im doing something wrong.
