How Much Linking Can YouTube Handle

Its been a while since I have linked to youtube videos and was wondering what kind of linking youtube can handle these days. previously it was safe to blast the hell out of a youtube video with xrumer etc but just want to check that this could still be done?

Think it can still be done but what i have heard/read is that blasting the video will bring it more into getting de-indexed due becuase they can now tell. But on the whole i think it may work very short time, prob best getting views and likes on it more than anything.
