How much is a like/bookmark/tweet worth?

Hi guys,

I guess this is a general question. But how much would a FB 'Like', a Re-Tweet, or social bookmark of any kind worth to you and your net-venture?

I've seen all sorts of packages and all sorts of pricing, and I'm just curious about what is to high a price, and what is ridiculously low.

What sort of factors would add weight or value to your the types of bookmarks you choose?

Good question.

You do get traffic everytime your anchor text is clicked or when somebody visits your FB fan page so that can be viewed as new customer potential. I mean you could strike it lucky and have some buyers even after only a few clicks or fan page visits.


But in terms of bookmarking and SEO this has to be done right in order to make your page not come across as a spam blog or site.

For example if you sign up to 25 social bookmarking sites and use the same username on all of them and use the same anchor text and then the same description etc. etc. when promoting your webpage; this may seem unnatural and that you are only doing so to get rankings. So you might say Google/Yahoo will penalise me for this!!

Buuuttt, if you use different account usernames etc. etc. then this may seem natural to Google and you may not be penalised.

But of course there is always the possibility that a competitor might come along and try and make your site seem like a spam site but submitting your webpages to a million different bookmarking sites, so I guess Google is aware of this too.

So who really knows!??

My advice is simple,

Create content that people would want to bookmark and post on their facebook/twitter.

Well, I wouldn't pay for bookmarking services anyhow...

Tweets r probably worth about as much as a captcha or less unless you have the ability to write what id want 4 a tweet n set everything up. Bookmarks r worth probably the same depending on your accounts n the sites and a FB like would really depend on the number and quality of friends. I just kind of tossed those numbers out there but im not the market and the market is truly what decides the price.
