Those who already have something going, those who don't have to worry feeding themselves from the hand and can fully enjoy taking risks with always somewhere to step back to in case the next step somehow ended up in a cow's turd (which doesn't happen due to the confidence aformentioned circumstances allow for, making that shit step not a failure but almost like hitting gold, for one inevitably learned something from that...).
They, like you(?), might find this kind of topic useless, but for people like me, it's a reminder of a spec of hope that's somewhere in the distance...
I have 3 sites, around -$90 in total.
I won't monetize them until I'm back from military service next year. Hopefully by then they've grown to cover the costs of almost non-existant upkeep.
- 1st site, started in August 2017 (saunaxxx . com), has failed. Whitehat approach (except for grey hat link exchanges), too tough & unpopular topic (sauna porn), not something I was passionate about. Started with no knowledge, learned as I went, learned a lot but didn't bother to apply to this site. This is to say that I know it's shit - it's the cow's turd, but I don't really have anywhere to step back to, only forward, with this shit stain...
- 2nd site, started in March, 2018; fully whitehat, hobby topic, and passive; already gets better traffic than that failure (financially) of a 1st site ever did.
- 3rd site, started in April, 2018; fully whitehat, interesting topic, aims to be passive. Doesn't get much traffic, but the little it does get seem to be engaging with the content (long time spent on posts).
Currently in disbelief about making money online with GOOD WILL and HONESTY only (with occasional unintentional cheats by accident), not by exploiting, stealing and lying - seems too surreal to me right now. If from 8:00-17:00 lifting trees in a factory all.day.long.every.day nets me a lowly $706 a month, surely doing almost nothing online in comparison shouldn't give me anything at all...
The only real money I've gotten online is from transcription work on Scribie . com ...
I guess once I do see things actually working out online, this working bee's mentality of mine will change. I'll care less for others, like those here who think this topic is useless, for example. One day... It's a cognitive dissonants - do I really want to become that blind?
