Hey there, I hope you're doing okay.
I have opened a new instagram account last month, now it has 500 followers and my posts are getting around 150-200 likes per post (no DM groups or anything just from followers), but whenever I use hashtags (and I use small ones with 300 to 500 posts and average likes on them is 200), Instagram puts my post in top posts for only couple of minutes, then It drops it from there even it has more likes and comments then the other post in the hashtag, so is this a problem or its just because of my new account??

How are you growing your account? If you bot your account there's a chance that your account is getting shadowbanned.

Nope no bots
Just following about 50 persons a day manually

Instagram algorithm is known to use a lot more factors when doing machine learning to study the behavior of the users. Followers count, likes & comments (engagement rate) are some of them. They also measure the amount of time users spend looking at your post to determine if it's interesting/engaging or not.

I'm sure they use a lot more than these, some of which we don't even know they exist.

When i put hashtags no engemeent without hashtag have a lot engemeent and likes
with hashtag i have 400-500likes without hashtag 1k+likes :anyway:

So this means my account has nothing wrong with, all I have to do is to keep growing it?

Maybe you're using some banned hashtags

Probably yeah. The engagement rate you've mentioned is good.

Ranking hashtags depends on their competitiveness too. More competitive hashtags' top posts are usually from accounts with bigger follower-base.

Having 1000 followers is just the beginning of the game for you, so keep up the good work and you'll soon find your posts sticking for way longer in the explore section.

Of course if you don't use banned hashtags, which I assume you don't.

Start with minimum hashtags and see what happen. Search for the insights and see there what you can improve (you might need to do better research for targeted hashtags related to your audience insights).

To rank on hashtags depends on how people interact with your post, the "authority" of your page in the niche, the likes, how much people share and tag people on your post (in the insights it's called others), how much you interact with people as well.

I've got many posts getting a lot of discovery from hashtags which helped the account growth. So it's just that your account has less "authority" and is newer that some other. I have had posts with some accounts having few likes but already on top list when other smaller accounts had more likes. Even happened with my posts from the same account competing between them in the top list from some hashtags, and some with lower likes getting ahead. So it's not only about likes.

I would take some time also to make sure you use the right hashtags, it can make a big difference in long term if used right. Also check from time to time your hashtags from another account who is not following yours if you see your posts to see if it's shadowbanned, especially if you notice some drops.

Thanks for the advice, I will keep growing it to the 1000 then I'll see what will happen.

Thanks for these informations, so I'll just try to grow it more and see what will happen
