How much does it matter if domain has www. or not

I have my domain set to www but I checked my domain without the www. and it shows many more links without it.

How much does this matter, does this matter anymore ? what should I do .

can someone do a ahref and give an opinion for my site mightyclean home and if I should do with our without the www. as default. Kinda lost

It shouldn't matter. Your site is redirecting non www. traffic to the www subdomain so you won't have any duplicate content issues. I wouldn't worry about it
 
but what about backlinks pointing to www. or not pointing there does that affect ranking

for instance a lot of my backlinks point to no www

while I only have a few backlinks to www.

yet www. is my chosen method right now

No it doesn't matter because the link that points to non www just passes over to the www version because of your redirect.
 
Generally speaking, you don't want to publicly share a website you own or manage. If it isn't and is just an example, no problem. Otherwise, suggest you modify your OP.
 
It doesn't matter at all. And i recommend you to delete your site's name from the first post as the guy above have said already.:lock1:
 
Yes it matters. If the main body of links are pointing at the non 'www.' version but your site operates on the 'www.' version, your domain server redirects to the correct version that you've selected. Unfortunately what's going on behind the scenes is a 301 redirect. 301's are said to pass on around 85% of link juice depending on who you listen to, so you get the main body of link juice but you're unnecessarily losing some.

tl;dr It devalues link juice via a 301 redirect.
 
I think peoples no longer want to type www or http. They directly type website name.

Google recommended to create site for visitors and not for SEO or google bots.

I use without www and here is no any issue with my site or traffic.
 
If it's a new website we're talking about, it doesn't affect anything. If you ever plan on using Cloudflare, you won't unless you use www.
