How much does AC pay upfront right now?

About $2.01 to $2.30, from my experience this week. :(
 
thats super cheap they used to pay alot more like 1-2 years ago what the hell happened?

If you want to still work on it, you'll have to crank out about 25 well-written unique articles a day to make (at an average $2.15 per upfront payment) about $50 a day. They may require the BH approach of creating 4-5 AC/PP accounts to do smoothly. Or, you could do the alternative and write 10-15 articles/day to better paying sites, then re-write them for submission to AC as well (manual re-writing takes the risk out of having your double dipping being discovered). The resulting blended earnings could be: writing site 1--$50-60/day, plus AC--$25/day, equals $75-85/day. About $2000+ a month from paid writing alone, with the AC cash serving as just a secondary money center.

wow thats a lot of work. Why not just invest those articles in your own site instead of somebody elses making you much more money in the long run? I guess if your desperate for some upfront money why not....:pirate:

I would say anyone who writes 25 articles per day none stop and summit to AC for those low offers is out of their mind! Unless they are sending some quickly rewritten stuff that lack real quality. Looking at how strict AC review system is, I highly doubt anyone not submitting quality would get by. They would be better submitting those articles to other sites that pay more, as you mentioned, or use them to do article marketing.
 
well there is no way I would send that many articles to AC. My plan was to get a team of writers and submit articles to AC but 2$ is nothing.
 
To each his or her own. Some swear by other upfront or higher paying sites (Constant Content, Helium, Bukisa, Textbroker, et al) but most make you wait a while before paying. Many have been attracted to AC because the fact that it does offer an upfront payment, compared to almost all the others, who pay IF the traffic and page views justify it. Instead of giving sites free inventory (your articles) AC actually compensated writers right away. If you need that rapid validation of your IM activity, go with AC and similar paid directories, but just try to structure a business model that gets you the most value for your articles.
 
You guys are nuts. There are much easier ways of making money online than selling your soul to AC...25 articles a day...I would pay more than that for people to write on my blog


Maybe thats what you guys should do...get a list of medium sized blogs and contact the owners to see if they are in need of content writing

Otherwise...word on the street is prices have lowered rediculously and with all the outsourcing that goes on its just gonna get worse (aka you arent gonna be getting paid as much as you are now 5 months from now)

AC is ridiculous and I plan on staying away from that site unless they improve the pay. At this rate they will start losing writers and just makes way for a new site to pop up similar to AC. I give AC 3 years before it is done.
 
When I joined AC a couple of years ago, I averaged $5-$7 upfront per article. Now it's more like $2 per article. However, I am doing quite well with the page views, so you really have to look at it as a long-term investment.
 
how soon do they pay the upfront cost? I submitted an article that had an upfront fee of 15.00 and it was published today. The account doesn't note anything so I wasn't sure how long it takes.

Usually within a day or two, not very long at all.

AC did pay pretty good a few years ago. >$10 per article was the norm for me and over the last few years it has decreased. I'm now getting low ball offers since they switched the site over to Yahoo and this will likely be the end of AC for me. Oh well it was good while it lasted tho time to cut ties and move on

The reason why it was so much when AC first started out was because they needed writers and content. The only way they could have done it was if they threw writers a "bone" (money).

Nowadays, AC really do not need all the writers they have now. They have tons of evergreen articles, not to mention they are able to get people to upload their articles for page view payment only.

Now if only someone new and better would come around....Too bad Google doesn't start their own content mill site. Would give AC/Yahoo! a run for their money (or not).
