How much does a porn website cost?

Hi guys, i'm not sure if i am posting in the right place, so notify me if it's not correct or move this thread (sorry for bad english i'm Italian).
:p

This is my question:
my friend and I were wondering how much money we can ask to our client for developing one or two porn website.
They should include a CMS to upload videos, publish content, premium users management and payments + affiliate solutions.
We were thinking about 3500-4000 euros each website... but we're not sure about the price, because we're IT students and this is the first porn website that we make.

Anyone has some suggestions?

What does the content have to do with how much you charge? If it was funny videos for example, you 'd charge differently?
 
We design Adult websites at $5,000+ In United States. Client is responsible for all content copyright purchasing for the site, this just includes the design, functions, and cms system.
 
5 grand just for the design? I got mine for $200. Do you actually get any business @ 5 grand/theme?
 
The average development cost here (country in West-Europe) is 75 - 80€/hour.
 
I own a very large web design company with 13 employee's. We do video recording, editing, voice overs, and much much more. And Yes, we get plenty =) Thank you.

ugh, there s no difference if its porn or not. You charge for quality of the design. The way i do it is ask client for his budget and deliver equal quality. I can make a website for $200 or for $20.000 the quality will be different. Its like saying how much does black car cost? Same thing depends on the quality is it corola or is it lambo
 
Current rate for a custom website is anywhere between $1k-$10k based on security, design, features, etc. The more you will add into it, the more you can charge. Basically from what you are saying is "how much can I get away with not putting in the package and still charge a higher price?" The answer is, take out as much as you think they won't notice or need. Ask them what they want in it, give them a full package option at a inflated price then talk down to a less inflated price. Make them get the illusion of a deal with value, and you can ask for almost any price. :D

Yes, he (or atleast I) would charge more. Pornography business delivers much more money than funny videos and it's much more risky to develop such a site, as owners are more likely to upload something which could raise some ugly lawsuits.

Unless you 're actually running it or taking a cut, you are not liable for it. Of course, you 'll try to charge as much as you can get away with, but isn't that what you 'd do in any case? ;)

Ofc you're not liable, but you'd still probably need to show up in court and prove that :) Especially if your company's name stands somewhere on the website.
And yeah I'd charge as much as I can get, but I wouldn't ask the same price from some local pizzeria and a large company, even if they want similar site.
 
Adult-based sites are always going to cost a premium... Why? Because of the the industry and material that the company would have to work with. If it's a company run by a woman, I highly doubt they'll even be interested... haha

Some may think that's a sexist remark but I've had such issues in the past so deal with it.
