Been lurking for quite a while, and I wasn't sure where to post this at. I just purchased downloadsforipad.net and I was wondering what you guys think it might be worth to a buyer? This isn't an attempt to sell the domain on here -- I'm just wondering if it might be better to sell the domain rather than keep it for myself? I had seen that certain iPad related domains are selling on eBay for thousands (and millions in some cases).

It's worth about $8, or whatever you paid to register it. No content, no links, no branding potential, no age, no nuthin'.

Creation Date: 26-mar-2010

PS - You should always splurge on private registration when posting your domain in public forums.

there are much better domains available. and they are still free and not taken.
so i think nobody will pay you more than 10$ for it

Hold it for few months, build some backlinks and good content..then sell for profit.

put it up on auction starting at 8$ ..


btw .. we're talking DOMAINS here. developing content, backlinks.. blah blah.. leave the shit for the seo sections..

I thought ipad was trademarked. If so then it's worth about -$50,000.00 once they find it and sue you for trademark infringement. Note the minus sign.

I did my due diligence, and as I suspected: several trademark applications exist for the term iPad: http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=toc&state=4002%3Aickk0j.1.1&p_search=searchss&p_L=50&BackReference=&p_plural=yes&p_s_PARA1=&p_tagrepl%7E%3A=PARA1%24LD&expr=PARA1+AND+PARA2&p_s_PARA2=iPad&p_tagrepl%7E%3A=PARA2%24COMB&p_op_ALL=AND&a_default=search&a_search=Submit+Query&a_search=Submit+Query

However, no trademark apps exist for DownloadsForIPad.net as a domain name. Nor does the domain contain the word Apple in it which would give the domain name a completely different feel (i.e. Apple would be pissed at me )

IANAL, but I think I'll be okay. Or if not, at least send me a Cease & Desist letter first.

Boy you're a smart one, aren't you?

Since all of those things factor into domain value, I thought it would relevant to mention them. Being the domianing mogul you are, you probably already knew that though...didn't you?

No disrespect here. But I don't think you understand what a trademark is and what it covers. I would highly recommend contacting an intellectual property rights attorney and ask him about this.

Go do a inurl search for ipod and ipad and see if you see ANY domains with either in it on the first few pages of google. Then ask your self why this is??
