How much do you pay per article?

It varies for the job. Do you want a picture article. Do you want 3-4 sentences? Do you want 300-500 words? Do you want intense research about specific items? For a picture article with about a paragraph of information and 6-15 pictures I charge $10. For a few sentences which is more like a review I do $5. For 300-500 words $8. Deep research and compare and contrast items $12.

I found if you're a growing company it's best to hire a full time staff person and work them. There is lots of cheap labor and people will work for minimum wage. It's better to hire someone in college or someone with high school degree so they know English and such.

For me, it depends on what site I'm using it on. Landing pages I usually write myself by compiling all the best info from all my competitors existing landing pages, filler content for my bigger sites around $4-5 per 100. For my toss away sites, I usually just plop down an unreadable but unique spun article, and once this spun article starts to rank and I see people coming in, I swap it out with a $1 per 100 word article.

For SEO purposes, I usually pay around $0.6 per 100 words. And sometimes if I find a writer who can write engaging + informative content, but is not a native English speaker, I just spend about 15 minutes and fix up the article myself and put it as filler for one of my sites.

For those who think quality content is the only way to make money, that's only half true. It depends what you're promoting. For adsense and amazon, the quality of content doesn't seem to make much of a difference from my experience (as long as your site design/navigation looks nice). But for clickbank and other affiliate programs, it makes a huge difference.

Depending on your niche, give iwriter a shot (most writers there suck at writing review type articles though). It's a hit or miss, but when you get a good writer there that's just starting out, you can favorite them and get a bunch of high quality articles for cheap. Oftentimes, I even get better $3 articles from them than most of the BST services here that sell at $1 per 100 (at least the ones that probably outsource to odesk for $1 per 500 words based on some of the quality I've seen).

$1.5 / 100 words seems a fair price to me.

my method is to find new fiverr article writers who will do 2 articles per gig (300-400 words). they will be likely to do a better job since they want good feedback. ends up being under $1/100 words

For an english-native speaker?

Well it really depends on what content. For a well-written review I'm suppose to pay between $2-3/100 words or sometimes more, because I want it to be top-notch content. For SEO articles it's a different story, I pay between 0.8-1/100 words. Fortunately here in BHW I've been to able to get money site quality articles for one of my main websites.

The best option is to write yourself. I do write for myself .

Last time I got paid around 3$ for 200 words, but it was some cheap article and nothing really special about it. I usually made 8-9$ for 250 words if the article was good enough.

There's no "fair price" when it comes to purchasing content.

You get what you pay for, and when you pay peanuts the only thing you can expect is content written by a monkey (maybe not even that, you might even get an article written by a... SPINNER!).

If an article writing service is offering their content for $3/500 words you can bet your bottom dollar that it's spun/incoherent junk, that's just way too low for any money site to truly get results out of it (crazier things have happened when it comes to Google, but you get the idea).

Just sayin' guys, it isn't like clothing where a shirt retails for $45.99 and only costs a few pennies to manufacture. The best content writers are of native English standards, and most of the time their prices reflect that.

This is true. Price depends on a number of factors, one of the most important of which is length. Of course, the longer the article, the more expensive it is.

It is never a good idea to scrimp on content, because you always get what you pay for. It also isn't fair to writers, because most of the time they are expected to deliver great work but are not compensated well for it.

I have paid up to $35 for an original article but that was for something being published on my own website. For an article that is going to appear on another site, it would be much less. It helps to find a real writer who can follow instructions and produce quality content on demand and on time, within budget. Otherwise you will end up with something that is unusable. And, even if you paid $1.00, it will be worthless.

You often get what you pay for. There are many cheap writers out there but those that offer the cheapest services are not the best at all times as they may not even have the proper grammar.
