How much do you pay for articles?

currently i am not writing articles , not spinning articles . but still i get $5-$10 per 500-600 word article.

As a content writer, my opinion is a bit slanted. . . But here's the sales pitch: Do things right and you'll see better conversions and more retention/engagement. Notice I said do it right and not on the cheap. If you can do it right and on the cheap, great but any quality writer will expect to be compensated for their time. Regardless of language.

It baffles me why people are willing to sell themselves so short when it comes to writing or buying content. We're all in this to make money and provide for ourselves, yet buyers feel as though giving someone sweatshop prices is okay and writers continually race to the bottom for those peanuts. It's counterproductive on both ends and silly in the extreme. Without quality writers, reputable content/money sites wouldn't exist.

Don't abuse your writers with this kind of mentality, form a team and conquer the market. That's what we're all here for, right?
 
I've never paid for articles in my life. Why? Because I know I can do a better job for free. I have yet to see amazing quality from the usual "native English speaking writer". However, if you really want quality, don't be scared to pay more. I'd rather pay $20 for a high quality 500 word article, than $3 for "a average 1".
 
The usual price for high quality content is about 2$/100 words.
For everything above I would demand specific niche experience which I won't get anywhere else.
 
I assume English articles, We do buy a lot of article so i can give approx market rates as on today.

Native American writer
-$1.5 to $2 per 100 words, after lot of research i found one for .95 cents $100(rare stuff)

Native Uk writer -this breed is little expensive and hard to bargain
-$1.5 to $2.5 for 100 words

-Non native writers - mostly Indians,pakistanis,philippines
-from .25 to $1 for 100, can bargain on bulk orders but quality sucks

i am from india i still get $1+ per article and i only do bulk order and my quality rocks.
now what ?

My personal advice is to start bulk hiring. Keep hiring writers at the rates you can afford. You'll find hidden gems along the way! Then, it's up to you to maintain a good relationship with them. Keep them busy and happy by offering them gigs. I'd pay around $5-$10 per 500-1000 words. Depends really on the topic's difficulty.

I pay $6 per 500-600 word article. Writes great content and I found him on Odesk. I had to go through a few bad writers though.
 
If you really want high quality articles then you need to pay for it. Most high quality articles cost anywhere from $10-$30 /500 words and trust me you won't be disappointed once you have found the right writer for you.
