I just recently started doing local SEO. Normally I do national level seo or international seo.

But I see the appeal of local SEO. Its easy to sell, clients are undemanding and unknowing.

I charge local clients, in the small country of austria, between 150$-300$ per month. Its an easy sell, and so far the price has never been an issue. I then buy seo content and PBN Domains, brainless and easy.

I think its really easy to sell to local people, but you need staff who will cold call a lot of people before you get any meetings. Once you get a meeting, its not very hard to sell them something and get a return on the calling staff.

What do you charge and how do you experience the sales process? Do you call yourself or do you hire people to do the calling? What do you charge per month as a minimum?

Range from $100-$1000 per month for small businesses, but I've heard of others doing much better than that.
The best way to advertise for local SEO services is by proving what you've done locally (rank high on local SEO keywords).

£250-500 depending on industry. I find local business owners in the UK are completely retarded. They think Yell.co.uk is the place to be. It's not. It's shit.

I have lead gen sites and try to sell to local businesses, customers waiting, and they don't understand what I'm doing. Pay £50 per lead for a job that could bring £5k+ in sales. It's a no brainer. I've stopped lead gen now, it's just not worth the effort in selling hot leads.

your sweet spot should be between 299 and 699 a month. At that price point you should not have any issues landing customers.

Anywhere from $200-$1000 depending on the amount of keywords that I am working with and the search volume/competition.

It should really depend upon competition and the sort of work you need to undertake. Charge what you deem appropriate for your time and associated expenses.

Was you getting paid to setup the lead portals or was you getting it all setup for free and hoping to sell hot leads?

Nope, I set them up myself to sell leads. Most leads needed work done (home renovation) within the next few days. Easy sale, no one was buying. Some said they were too busy....

The higher the authority score and the more backlinks your competitors have, the more you'll have to invest in SEO to outrank them.

depends what will cost to me and what they will earn, if they will rank for x position, if I dont fill I can make them happy, or they are cheap ass, I don't work with them.

But I have a medium, firm with various locations that pay me, over 5k a month.

I dropped the ones that paid very little, or I asked for a raise, in the monthly fee some accepted some not, now I work less and earn more.

It's really depends upon the niche, competitors and keywords. Around $200 - $700 will be for work for small business.

Consumers are stupid regardless of the industry. I pity salespeople because they have to talk to the general public every day.

Lead generation is still a good industry though. If you get in with a good company that pays on time and offers good rates you'll go far. There's also the benefit that once the lead has been generated you don't need to bother talking to the customer! Of course it takes cash to get through the early days but once you start getting the flow though, you're pretty much set.

As for the OP, don't charge too little. You'll only attract the businesses who can least afford your services and will ring you every 5 minutes "for a chat".

Those "chats" reveal two important things:

    1. They're not driving enough sales to be busy working, buying a new house, new sports car or expanding the business to a new town.
    2. They don't value your time and falsely believe you're just as deprived of work as them.

Dealt with enough of these types over the years. Drop them out quickly, they're the equivalent of people on this forum posting endless "how can I earn £100 a day" threads.

The best way to generate leads is to hit up Adwords / Adcenter and get building a profitable PPC account.

If you're paying $50 per lead, you can be damn sure the affiliate is hitting atleast 100% ROI on every lead. That means you could be getting leads for $25 or under and have full control over the lead flow.
