How much do spelling and grammatical mistakes affect SEO? If you have spelling mistakes here and there on the articles.

is there any general % that is considered bad or what is the effect on SEO with minor articles with spelling and grammatical errors?

I try to avoid spelling and grammar mistakes on principle, because it doesn't present my client in a favourable light if there are typos on their landing pages and blog articles. So, for branding, yeah, avoiding mistakes matters, especially if you're working with old-school businesses who couldn't care less about internet slang.

In SEO, typos may actually help your ranking. For example, if you're in adult niche, you may want to optimiza a particular page or site for words like "pron" or other common typos, just so you can rank for them.

I think that depends on the approach.
It is normal to make mistakes and I believe users who do the search have such mistakes as well.
So perhaps in SEO strategy that is worth to have some SEO done for this as well.

Regardless of SEO, even if it doesnt affect directly.. but it will affect the user reading your content.. they won't take your service seriously or see it as credible if you treat your own content with carelessness.. users are always searching for professional sellers they can trust, and appearance of site (no spelling mistakes) affects users' judgement and trust..

Too many spelling and grammatical mistakes do affect SEO otherwise minor mistakes does not matter. Just proofread with grammarly and you are good to go.
