how much content to rank a keyword

hi there. i wanted to know how many articles are required to rank a keyword of difficulty level of 25-30 [long tail keyword pro]?

That's a hard question to answer. Why don't you start publishing content, build some links and see what happens?
 
No one can estimate that and you shouldn't think like that. No matter the competition, create quality content, obviously more of it will broaden your site with more potential keywords to rank for which gives you more traffic. With link building and time you will be able to rank.
 
Honestly, I wish people would stop asking questions like this. Start writing, provide more value than your competitors and stop focussing on word count.

Too many people out there believe that simply posting a 500 word post is enough to get ranked, and the truth is that good content shouldn't be limited to a word count. Write, and keep writing until you exhaust a topic, rather than writing to a specific word count.
 
If difficulty level is 25 to 30 then its mean the competition is medium, 2000 words would be fine as homepage content. Once SERP starts increasing then add 3 to 5 articles of 500 words on sub niches. Its a suggestion as per my experience because it also depends on the niche and exact competition.
 
thanks for your input guys actually i am new to all these so i thought its better to get advice from experienced people in the business and then take the actions. :D

my main keyword has a difficult level of 40+ :eek: so what i did is researched secondary long tail keywords in my niche with difficulty level below 30 and now i am thinking to target them first.
 
Can't estimate how many articles are required to rank a keyword difficulty level. Its just about the quality content that you have posted in your site. Make sure your content is fresh and with quality. And concentrate in the link Building too.
 
As far as your keywords are not stuffed and make sense, 1000-1500 words should do. Because eventually google looks for content that makes sense and is informative.
 
"Content is King." I think you should publish some good contents rather than the estimation of content numbers.

After done it, you can check about the difficulty to get some clear routes.

You can possible to get the result at any count.
 
I've noticed lately in a couple of niches im in, fairly new websites popping up from nowhere and what they have in comon is massive articles. Before people had "top 10 best product" type of articles with 1000 word, nowdays its "top 50" or "top 85" with 4000-6000 words articles.
 
Use unique content with more than 500 words. Because less than 500 words appears ineffective for long-term strategies. If you write very little content, it makes your pages look highly similar due to template similarities.
 
Its enough have an unique content with high quality keywords having low competition.
Content plays an important role which helps to rank higher focus on creating a quality content with many articles.

As others pointed out, word count doesn't matter.

All you need to do is focus on creating high quality contents.Publish as many as possible and wait till G starts ranking your site.
 
More content say 1000 for a keyword is enough for your keyword ranking. Google give more importance for contents while doing ON-page SEO. So more contents with unique and non spam will helps to get rank in SERP.

Don't repeat the keyword in the same article more times and Don't do the duplicate content publidh in your site.

Word count is not a matter to rank a keyword. Try high quality informative content to bring visitors for your site which automatically boost your ranking for sure.
