How much content should I change in autoblogs?

I hear the best way to autoblog is changing the footprint, which I think is rewriting or spinning the content..correct? But how much content should we change?

For example if there is 100 articles do I just do some keyword research and optimize 1 article each for lets say 10 keywords (10 articles)? But what about the rest of the pages/content...does it get natural traffic as people go to the optimized articles then start looking around? Or do I just hope to naturally rank 1st page for so many very low search volume keywords that when combined it adds up to decent traffic?

I mean what is the purpose of an autoblog if most/a lot of the pages don't get viewed? I might as well just make a smaller microniche site but with all unique content?

I guess my question is how much altering of content should I do...and why....if I am altering so much content....what would be the purpose of an autoblog??

From my personal experience duplicate content can still be fine but it seems to vary from niche to niche. My favoured niche(flash games) is one where almost every site has the same content that is syndicated so that could be a factor in my bias. If you want to stay on the safe side make your content unique. It kind of defeats the purpose of an autoblog if you have to manually rewrite everything but you could use something like the best spinner API to do it for you.

NEVER fear duplicate content if it is used in proportion. Let your autoblog software do its thing but add in some mashed up content and the odd unique content.

Mashed content - Search for related articles, take a paragraph from each and use 5 of them to make a new article. Edit it a little so it reads OK. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Use your pure dupe and mashed content to interlink to each other. This way Google will find all of your content which adds weight to the site. Get external links TO all of your content. Yes, it takes a little effort.

Now, find the words you want to rank for and create a unique article for each search term your targeting. It will be the unique content that will rank as it is supported by a site that carries a lot of content that is interlinked and has external links to it.

Shezboy...is your autoblogging method still applicable today...I just found it and am starting to go through the videos. But people are saying twitter traffic doesn't convert.

Yes, it is still applicable today - as much as it was when it was first released.

A lot of people do say that Twitter traffic doesn't convert.... people say a lot of things though. It's important to know if what they're saying is based on their own personal experience or just what they've heard others say.

Good info here, I didn't think about the mashable stuff...

And just beginning to autoblog with unique content added every three days...

Let's see what I can come up with...

At some point basic spinning will stop working. I think Goggle would want to detect it as dub content when they have the processing power. This type of stuff is what Panda might do, just not on a live basis.
