anyone tested this? i doubled the budget on a CBO and it restarted the learning phase. if i increase a budget from $500 to $800 so a little over 50% increase, would that restart the learning phase?

for any lurkers that are curious: i tested it myself. ran campaign at $500 per day, got 12 purchases. next day increase to $800 per day, learning phase didn't restart. so 60% increase in budget appears acceptable. this could change or be different based on budget so who knows

yup, still running. $500 day 1, $800 day 2. optimization events still kept, learning not restarted. soooo moral of the story: when scaling, increase by no more than 50% per day. same with down scaling. if any bullshit happens or it turns out this isn't the case i'll come back and update

adset is on track to 50 purchases but goes into learning limited half way in the day, lol

i think i need to calculate max 50 conversions in 7 days, budget may be too high. gonna run a CBO at $205 per day for 7 days, should get 50-60 pucrhases. see y'all in a week

Since no one is answering, I thought I could share my experience. Right now this is my budget increasing chart for CBO's and it works just fine for my projects and clients:
  • Budget up to $100/day - double it. $20 => $40, $40 => $80 etc.
  • $100 - $200 - 80%
  • $200 - $500 - 60%
  • $500 - $1000 - 50%
  • Over $1000 - manually, depending on the metrics.

i tested it, you don't want to increase by more than 50% per day, you will restart the learning phase. you may be able to push 60 or 70%, but i haven't tested that

$100 per day to $150 per day is okay. but $100 to $200 is not. that's why i recommend starting higher at $300 or $500 per day. it makes it smoother to go into scaling

btw, all of this may not even matter because i still haven't figured out how to get out of "learning limited". i'm testing 1 campaign -> 1 ad set -> 1 ad, broad targeting at $500 per day. if that gets learning limited still then i have no idea what the fuck the problem is, and at that point i would recommend others to just not even bother with it AS LONG AS you are profitable. my campaigns are profitable so even if they get learning limited i will continue to scale them up 40-50% per day

another thing: about retargeting budget, people grapple and debate about what is best. right now i think 10% of your main campaign budget should be okay.... so if you have 1 active CBO at $500 per day, make your retargeting $50 per day. i THINK this should be okay. it really all depends on how much you wanna squeeze out of it. if you go too high per day on retargeting, you risk exhausting your retargeting audience. too low and you're not getting the most profit, so it's a sweet spot

right now i'm running $500/day CBO and $50/day retargeting. tomorrow i'll be increasing $800/day, then $1200/day, then $1600 day, then $2400 day, then go from there

Just duplicate the campaign and increase the budget on that one.
