I need offshore hosting for a blog Im going to create, but it will only be text only, all images will be hosted on a imagehost, and then embed the images onto mysite.Could I do with 100GB of hosting while starting out, or will I need more?

I see all the offshore plans for 500GB bandwidth or more seem to expensive and Im not sure how long it will take for the site to take off, so Id rather start at a lower amount.

100 GB bandwith a month? I doubt that you'll ever reach even 20 GB with a text-only blog before money for hosting isn't a problem anymore.

Yes! Who know the actual bandwidth usage! Just start with the minimal one and upgrade later if it's not enough and that's it. Just pick the host which is easily constant upgrade plans and resources; mostly it does!

To put things in perspective my blog which is filled with images and HD videos to download has used 119GB across 92k visits in the past month.

I don't think you have anything to worry about :p

    100 GB = 102.400 MB = 104.857.600 KB

Let's say your text-only website weighs like 50 KB.

This translates into around 2.097.152 downloads total.

Divide by 4 for a few page views per user and you'll end up with around 520.000 possible unique visits.

Do you get around 17.500 unique visits per day? Or less? Then you will be fine with 100 GB.
