I just want to have an idea, how much are you willing to pay for ONE article for really good quality content?

**for 300 words?
**for 500 words?

What would be your criteria for a good quality article?

**do you think that Native writers' content are easily distinguishable than others whose second language is English?

We all know that since the updates, Google has been more into the quality/content of sites... Personally, I believe that good content must never be sacrificed...

I would appreciate comments and honest feedback ;)

Clients pay me $1 per 100 words and they expect quality content, so I guess that's a good number to start.

For what it's worth, I'm only willing to pay the same amount as well. But maybe because I can write them myself. I'm sure those who hate writing articles will be willing to pay more. I've seen some article providers here on BHW charging more and they still get a lot of orders. I guess it really depends on the budget and your established relationship with your writer.

PS: I agree with you regarding the value of good content.

$1.00-$1.20 per 100 words is what good unique content go for

But what if you have native writers and you charge 1usd/100 words, wouldn't it be so less?

To be honest, I probably won't even pay someone $1/100 words because I don't think anyone could live on $10/hour.

Dafuq have you been smoking?? The majority of people in this forum would be more than happy to be earning $10/hour.

.40 cents usd - .80/100 words. I pay .72 for my best writer. I wish I had 5 of her. I also order a lot of articles, so that matters as well.

Here is a tip. Find an English teacher looking for extra cash in a low GDP country.

But do you guys prefer native writers or writers whose second language is English? What are your experiences so far as an employer? I'm building a team and I am still unsure if I am to hire native writers or not...

Anyone here who can give me some advice/tips when hiring native writers?

It depends on what the content is for really. If you're trying to start a low-quality content-mill then obviously money is a major contributing factor to your decision. But if you're attempting to resell this content or pass it off as high-quality then it has to be native really, otherwise you'll find yourself spending most of your time correcting the content.

Factor in how long it's going to take you to fix all the poor content, and if that's more than you'd earn if you were to invest your time in other projects then you know what you have to do!

Max I used to pay was $20/500 words, because I know that I would get well researched content, and not some rewritten article. To be honest, I probably won't even pay someone $1/100 words because I don't think anyone could live on $10/hour.

hmm... if a writer takes around an hour to create a 500 word article, then 20 usd per hour is good! Your writer will be so happy... then again, it depends on where she came from and the exchange rate.

It makes sense, and what you said was true!!! ;) Do you have any experiences or tips when hiring native writers?

I'm paying nothing less than 5$ for a 400 words article. I also have writers for press release or important articles where I pay somewhere to 30-50$ for 1000 words.

Are they native writers? I obviously assume that native writers gets higher pay since less editing/proofreading is needed...

As soon as the articles are of a good quality doesn't matter if their are native or not. I have a pretty big writers team which honestly I'm telling you that I've selected all of them by samples and not by anything else.

Some scary thing is that I found non-native writers who provided better articles than the native ones.

Great! At least now I have an idea, thanks! ;)

I write articles on technology related topics. But one man can only do so much, so I have a team of very talented freelance writers who write articles for my blogs. Almost all my writers are from India and I pay $5 to $8 per 500 words.

Selecting the writers was a painstaking process but it paid off nicely. I do not have to waste time any more looking for good writers whenever I need some content.

There are writers in India with english so bad that it feels like it is their way of taking revenge on the British for ruling the country for 200 years. But their are many talented writers too with degrees in english literature or journalism.
