Makes for an interesting read. I know a lot of my peers are struggling with the monotony of life. Why work hard when all you're gonna get is a rental and a few hundred to put away for when your car or boiler breaks down.

I was lucky and invested in crypto at the right time, kept working outside of a job and have a house and family that keep my going but I understand the paralysis of not wanting to keep up with the chores and monotony of every day life. Knowing that your parents could get any job and a deposit saved in 3-5 years and pay off the house in 10... Meanwhile I've got a 35 year mortgage that I'll eventually pay off and debt left right and centre.

Unless youre a spectacularly high earner the lower paying jobs won't be enough to move out by yourself and who wants a flat share with 3 other people?

Everyone who is not a millenial thinks millenials are lazy, but as the article says it is more that they cannot focus on doing the mundane.

It's always weird to see how some older folk (by the way, I'm not a young person) have this generational warfare type of mentality.
It's so easy to go back and forth about opinion-based (and often untrue) faults with specific generations, but it's generally just useless conjecture which turns any conversation trivial. A few of you should ask yourselves if you're even adding anything to the conversation.

Millenials arent lazy...they just arent resilient and have little control over their minds and emotions.

There has never been another time in history that you can literally be bored. Previous generations had to GRIND to get anything. Up to the 60s, welfare wasnt really a thing, loans for cushy stupid degrees in university wasn't a thing, gap years weren't a thing, etc.

Your daily habits become your areas of capability, capacity and expertise. So, the millenial is what you get when you have a generation with helicopter parents (someone always there to bat away discomfort or make things go away for you) and entertainment as the answer to sooth discomfort and distress. Being able to focus and persevere in the face of discomfort or mundane tasks is the human superpower.... it is what has made humans successful as individuals, groupsand countries.

It's just a matter of adapt. millenial start their life in world where internet just starting, not as booming as now.
Right now information overload everywhere, they need to learn to find information, be critical with it. but most millenial is educated to listen, not question.
