    Hi all,

I have some pages with 500 - 800 words per page on my website.

Will it be better, or okay, if I add another 500 words or even more words?

What is the optimal amount of text on a page?

How many words per page do you use?

    cheers,
    Camouf

It really depends on what sort of a site it is if it where me and it was some sort of information page or somthing i would go to around 800 words then have a next page. But i dont really think it matters tooo much.

There is no "optimal amount of text per page".

As long as the content is useful to the visitors, flows, interesting, parsed correctly and obviously interesting (combinations of: text, images, videos, rich snippets, further reading etc), it can go for ever.
It's important to notice that sometimes, even one line of text is enough to make a conversion. something like: "Call now for further info" where a lead is counted over a phone call.

So, I suggest you to do what's right. If you can create a 500 quality words text that will be as descriptive and quality as possible, do it over a 2000 words text that is just repetitive and dull.

Don't forget to visualize your page - it's not enough to use text merely.

    Good Luck

It's just enough don't make them bored of your article just want it to be perfect and 500 - 1500 are perfect for Seo :)

    Hello,
Its only depends on your topic. As per my knowledge it must not be increase than 1000 words because it turns into bored if you do so. Articles must have some links with the pictures to increase the attention with the audience. Be straight to your topic, write less but deliver more.
    Thanks.

Man, sometimes we have to explain something and it takes lot of time... Just follow this - don't make it similar to others - make it different!

From an Seo point of view it completely depends on your niche. Check out the top ranking pages and see how many words they each have. Personally I find articles with 1500+ words to rank better. But this is from personal experience and not from a proper statistical study.

Do a search on "games" or "used cars"... view source of the top 10 results and count the keyword matches... in some niches you need to repeat your keywords 500-800 times just to have competitive parity... Look at your target search terms and find what is going to be competitive with what is already ranking well... tune to that.
