hello everyone!

How many web 2 properties (wordpress, blogger..) would you build out per article before moving on to stronger links? Is there such thing as too many that could possibly hurt the rankings. Would building out like 50 of these things be a bad thing?

15-20 d0f0ll0w unique domains would do. But make sure you first build them, create multiple pages and then after a month or so add links slowly. It will be more natural this way.

I think that building 5-7 per article would be enough if these web 2's are filled with unique content along with about us, privacy pages etc/

I usually go with 8-10 highly focused manually built Web 2.0s, but I also have pages that have received links from web2.0s naturally, so the number adds up easily. Haven't seen any negative impact so far, on the contrary. It's just that I like to keep them below 20% of total number of links. It is not a magical number, just something I put as a limit - it helps me keep track of diversity.

So, if I had 20 web 2.0s pointing to a page, I would build at least 80 other links too (image, document and article sharing, social bookmarks, etc), and I usually start with social signals a month or so prior to placing any links from web2.0 to my page.

Also, 50 links coming from Wordpress or Weebly in just a few days is not something that happens naturally for most of people. But 50 links from tumblr, even in a day, is nothing unusual. Though better drip feed them too :)

It all depends upon the niche and keyword you are trying to rank. You also need diversity.
