Proxy alone isn't the deciding factor... There are much more to it... But if you are anyway spamming with those accounts it's better to keep as less account per proxy as possible.

I am using 5 accs per proxy and I have quite big ban rate. But it might be the settings or the posts I do...

No matter waht social media platform you using, always limit yourself to one account per proxy.
Is best to ring fence each account.
This way you can set aggresive follow ratios for some accounts and more conservative for others.

It is, but it's also the safest.
The proxy question is not that simple, that you can easily quantify it. It depends on what you do with the accounts, can they be linked together by different things (domains, settings, account behaviour etc.) other than the proxy.
I personally use 2 Twitter accs/proxy, but you can easily get away with considerably more. I'd say 4-5 is still pretty safe, some use even more.
Twitter made quite a few changes in the past few months and tightened its security, but as far as the ip:acc ratio goes, that hasn't changed and it never was too strict at least compared to Instagram for instance.
Hell, they allow one phone number to be attached to 10 Twitter accounts, it's in their official rules. If you think about this, even 10 accs per ip should be safe, the important thing is that how you use them.

From many answers , I figured out that aggressive behavior in following, unfollwoing, tweeting, messaging..etc is the reason beyond most bans and not how many accounts on each proxy.
This means, if I am to be aggressive in using these accounts, I better use 1-2 per proxy ,so in case this IP is blacklisted I don't lose any accounts.
There is also another thing; where from do we get these proxies? There are providers who sell one dedicated private proxy for $ 3 and another sells the same for $1. This can't be real. Many think that there are sellers who claim selling private proxies for $1 while they sell you a shared proxy. This means this proxy is sold to 2-3 people at the same time and if one of them is doing something wrong with it and get banned, all will also do if that ban is in the same social medic platform.
Thus, the most important thing is to find an honest seller before deciding how many accounts to set per proxy.

I am going to test this now with 20 different proxies.
I will start with 20 accounts on the first proxy and post and follow in an aggressive way
then 20 accounts on the second proxy and post and follow slowly
then 17 accounts on the third proxy and post and follow in an aggressive way
then 17 accounts on the fourth proxy and post and follow slowly
I will keep going until I have only 1 account per proxy.
We will see what gets banned and what does not.
When this little test is done, I will let you know what happens.

Some will say 1, some will say 2, some will say 5, some will say 100. I believe it depends on the proxy you're using, and what you're doing with the Twitter account. Start with 1-2 accounts, then increase slowly and see if they are getting banned. Create test groups for yourself with different amounts of accounts and see what works out best for you.
