I need your opinion on this please. How many tumblr accounts you use per single IP address without getting banned?

Well I believe you can have as many blogs per IP address. Think of people accessing tumblr from anywhere including internet cafe places, starbucks or any place with public wifi service which tend to use the same public IP for their entire network.
So just imagine 6 or 20 people decide to open their tumblr accounts from a cafe internet, or from starbucks, they would share the same IP or people sharing the same VPN service. I can't imagine tumblr banning blogs because they are in the same IP.

I have many blogs on my regular IP and never had any problem there. What tumblr bans is the bot behavior. If you run 100 non stop blogs 24/7 from the same IP or from 100 different IPs for sure you are going to get banned.
Tumblr bans bot behavior.

I also have quite a few tumblr blogs, i haven't had them banned, the secret like niko said, don't use them like a dumbass and make it look legit

me having 60+. although of clearing browser and changing ip everytime, i did get banned. beware of the cookie.

Yeah! forgot to tell that too. Clear cookies before switching accounts. You can use Chrome for that, it has a multiuser feature very useful to have many tumblr accounts opened at the same time.

Or the OP can just use the incognito/privacy tab so he can save time on deleting cookies and browsing history...simplify!

Chrome has a multi user feature. You can create as many users on Chrome that works as if having different web browsers, so the OP would not need to clear cookies or history at all, and he could have as many tumblr accounts opened at the same time.

It's pain to manage lot of accounts manually.. Thought of adding 2 accounts per IP to my PRTB
