Hey everyone, I've read some threads where people say to follow between 200 and 250 people per day on Twitter in order to keep your account safe.

I was wondering if this is safe for a 1 month old twitter account with 900 followers, 500 following. The strategy I am using is: follow one user every 2-7 minutes until I have followed 200 people for the day.

So my question is, is there ANY chance I can get banned using this method?? Following only 200 users per day, one follow every 2-7 minutes on a ONE MONTH OLD account. Thanks a lot.

High chance of getting banned with those numbers now - I have accounts with that many followers occasionally get banned for following over 100 per day.

It's important to make sure you tweet a lot as well, Twitter's algo has got more complicated now & doesn't just take your follower ratios into account.

Yes I would never follow more than 100 people a day on twitter. especially not with new accounts.

Thanks a lot, this was exactly the kind of information I wanted to learn. What do you mean by "tweet a lot"? I tweet about 3-5 times a day, is this enough?

Slow and Steady wins the race. Just go slow and safe. Thanks

Agreed, any more than 100 per day is a red flag. daily increments and effort will pay off..

I would recommend buying an aged account, you'll be able to follow a lot more.

my 2009 account i can do 940 a day, only spacing 10 seconds between. No problems. My 2010 accounts, about the same. .... 2013 accounts SUCK. I am only doing 97 follows every 12 hours, spacing 30-45 seconds between. That all goes well until I go to churn, and I unfollow like 150 people and get banned. Haha. The new accounts you have to be so freaking delicate with.

Would an account created in the end of 2012 (Around November) be ANY better than an account created last month, or would it basically be in the same situation? I'm just asking because I have a stockpile of accounts created in Nov. 2012. Thanks for all the help everyone.

I follow 800 - 900 people a day with my aged account..Twitter stops me after that..Also unfollow users every two days that don't follow you back..Never let your following get to 2000 followers until you have over 2000 followers or you won't be able to follow anybody else for a long while..Not sure if twitter does that anymore.

It is very difficult to follow or tweet some one in twitter. You need real tweets & followers. I didn't get verification msg from twitter. Because of that my 2 accts get banned.

You could try it but it's best to buy an account from 2010 - 2011. You can get around 200 for $20 on here.

What kind of retention of followers are you getting with following 100 per day?

are you unfollowing 100 each day also without any problem? (Ex. Follow 100 & Unfollow 100)

I actually haven't unfollowed many followers at all, I'm just following at this point. I only started 7 days ago. Do you think it would be ok to follow AND unfollow 100/day? Or should I only follow 100/day, then unfollow 100 the next day?

I don't think its wise to have over 100 followers per day. You might wanna slow down to be safe , just in case.

Yes there is a chance of getting the banned by twitter. i normally follow only 20 peoples which are relatd to my profession.

Age the accounts, start off slow 100-200 and if you reach the limit without enough follow backs buy a gig from fiver and get a few thousand and from there onwards follow 500+ try to keep URL's within your tweets to the minimum whilst your account is new
