with my experimentation i feel once a day is best but I'm curious to know how many times do you guys suggest to post

It’s recommended to post at least once a day. However after a while you need to focus on posting high quality content consistently.

I used to post once every 2-3 days on my hentai niche site and spent the daysin between to promote that post by my methods.

It first depends on whether you want to build a personal brand page or a theme/business page.
With a personal one post per day would be enough, preferably also more often slideshows to increase the retention and to create variety.
With a theme/business page it can be as much as 3-5 times a day. provided you have enough good content for your niche/your (potential) followers.
For example, there is a very successful soccer page which posts on average 10-12 times a day.
Additional to both points is of course to post regularly reels and optimally to go live together with similar accounts from time to time.

If you want to keep the account long-term I would say 3 at most a day spread out over the day

It really depends. If you want faster results, post more often; this can lead to burnout too.
