How many social signals per article?

I only share my published article link on 5-6 top social sites. I am not sure how much benefit someone get of sharing his/her published article on hundreds of social sites.

Not hundreds of social sites, I am talking about 3 sites FB, twitter and Pin to send 1k social signals.

They generally do not make much difference unless you've got a news site.
Drip-fed is likely to look more authentic.

I would prefer the drip-feed method, because backlinks are made slowly and over a long period of time in a progressive way, with no footprints, low risk, site looks natural.
