How many sites is too many on Shared Server Hosting?

Yeah, I'm using Hostmonster and I'm quite satisfied with their service.

I'm just curious how many sites is too many for a shared server?
I'm currently having about 6-8 websites running on a shared server.

It's really a question of how much resources the sites are taking. Are there bottlesnecks in bandwidth, disk read/write or cpu usage? 1 heavy site could use more resources than 10,000 others.

There's no limit on bandwidth. Just don't load up on hundreds of GB of space.

You're limited to 25 simultaneous CPU cycles (meaning if 26 people visit your website SIMULTANEOUSLY, your website will go offline; this is very unlikely unless you get on the front page of Digg or something).
