I don't make a living with local Google only...but it's part of my SEO business (clients).

When the listing is not of one of my clients, I contact business owners in the same industry the listing belongs to and I try to lease it.

I am not making my living with Google Locals, but it is a huge part of my income.

I do build local businesses listings and get them ranked higher. I also have some businesses listed in google locals that make me quite a bit of money.
