The statement that its between 37-42 on some tool doesnt help. You need to manually check the top 10 ranking sites and their authority to determine how many are needed. Also, its not just about PBNs, its about analyzing and implementing.

Depends on the competitor, the quality of your PBN, and the quantity.

Start with what you are comfortable with then keep increasing while monitoring SERPs. There isn't an exact formula for any keyword.
