Hello,
2 months ago I started a blog promoting products in an affiliate model. After 2 months of building forum entries, profiles and blog comments most of my articles describing the products on my blog rank pretty well. Around 15 products on an average position 10. Right now I am starting to use PBNs for linking. My question is shall I focus on all of the products/urls equally in regards to linking or shall I just pick 2/3 products randomly, get them to the top 3 and then catch up with the others?

Start with one and expand from there... The lessons you learn from ranking one will help you rank the rest of them with less effort.

This is very sound advice.

OP don't make the same mistake most people make, and that is trying to do too much right out of the gate. Focus on one and like @validseo says, the lessons you'll learn from ranking that one will be priceless.

Good luck!

Focus on keyword that is moderate in terms of traffic and competition. If you rank it you'll get the extra zeal to go for "hard-to-rank" keywords.

what do you mean by moderate? like something in between an easy and difficult keyword?

That's correct. Moderately difficult keyword.

^ this ,

with the money being generated from the already ranked kw you can later then rank em all

I've read some good advice in this post.

Focus on one keyword, but what this means is the following:

Let's say you want to focus on "soft sleepy kittens", you should target the following keywords as a part on the main keyword:

- soft sleepy kittens
- sleepy soft kittens
- kittens soft and sleepy
- sleepy and soft kittens

And so on...

Cover the whole range of your keyword.

After you rank this keyword, you can move to the next one. With the time you will realise that everytime is taking less effort to rank any new keyword.

Just pick your leading products/URLs and start to ranking on this then you can go with others, If you have done this then you can get some clear ideas about to ranking your products/URL's in the right way.

don forget to link with brand and "visit site" keywords. In case if your strategy is fast in growing links exact matches can become problem. Use diversity of anchor types.

Depending on the structure of your article, you can rank for a keyword without actually having to try to do so.

Also you can try to rank for a longer tail keyword and the shorter versions might get icked up easily too;

If you want to target ; cute pictures of soft sleepy kittens
You could also find you've got ranking for; soft sleepy kittens
