How many keywords per post

Hi, I would like to know how many keywords should I use when writting a blog post and is one long tail keyword enough or should I use more ? Like one major keyword and maybe one or two minor.
I have read many thing about it but I didn't find clear answers for my questions. Thanks a lot !

How long is the post ?
300 words, 3k words or 30k ?
 
yes you can go for more than one keyword (If your article is long ) - check out Yoast SEO plugin, it gives you easy option to focus more than 1 keyword.

Thank you, but how many keywords should I use ? bewteen 1 and 3 ?
 
For a 700 word article, you can use one primary and the other a long tail keyword. It will help you for sure.
 
you should use 1 page for one main kw you are targeting. you have to use variations and LSI anyhow so if the page is then ranking for another long tail as well its great ....

like a page for elefants
can rank for african elefants, blue elafants ect .....

yo don't have to make a page for each.
 
You can use 3 keywords max for 600 words. Don't stuff your keyword into the article. Make it natural!
 
Thanks a lot for the answers, I have another question : Can I use the same keywords again in a new article if it has been used before ?
Like

article 1 = kw a
article 2 = kw b
article 3 = kw c
article 4 = kw d
article 5 = kw a (again the keyword a)

Yeah sure :) but use in different places like center or last of articles with some long tail keywords use naturally.

Depends how aggressive you are. But the safest one is to post one keyword per article or per paragraph.
 
depends on your writing style.


some pack 30 kws in one 10 k word article.

I focus on 1-3 KWs in shorter articles.

I dont believe, nor have in in NONE niche and NONE page found anny CAUSATION for the longer article rank better lie..

Its just seobloggerbullshitcrap they gobble out all day saying "googles loves anal sex and long articles"
 
I would suggest going with one as your article is not too long.
 
You can use one long tail keyword as well and use it differently by using LSI keywords
 
Not no. of Kws but the Keyword Density.
You can go with 1% Kw Density as Fair. But still my best advice would be; Write the article and put the Kws in a Natural way as much as possible. You won't need to go with any specific number then.
 
For that short of an article, I'd put anywhere from 3-5 keywords onto the article. Also, it is very important that the keyword is used on the first sentence of your paragraph, as Google may initially index that first sentence and get that into their SERP description in the ranking process. Try something natural that goes with your keyword within the first few words on that first sentence.
 
As already said, get the Yoast plugin. That will guide you. I generally go for one KW per post and make sure the post scores 100% for it, but I write a lot of posts (around 300 to 1000 words per post), sometimes 4 a day, so my KW's are spread out more.
