How many hours can you code maximum?

It depends on the amount of distractions. When my phone keeps ringing I can barely work for 3-4 hours. But otherwise I can code for 6-7 hours.

Depends on the complexity of the problem I'm trying to solve. If need be I can go for 5-6 hours.

can't keep count, it really depends with the goal really. If I got to deliver some of my work faster then I most definetly will stick 5-8 hours. Bt these days 20 mins and save that work, sometimes the coding may need your damn week and it's not the only thing you should do. Stressful as said..

1-2 hours currently. Still learning the ropes too.

This thread made me realize I need to up the ante (4-6 hours). Too many damn distractions.

In a 48 hackathon I coded for 45 of those hours, the other 3 hours was spent sleeping.

I even had a piss jug and drank as little as possible to save time. This was in my younger days......

This was obviously an extreme case, but I can comfortable code for 10 hours a day now but every now and then I code for much much longer when deadlines are tight. Last year I pulled at least 1 all nighter coding session per week which is 15-20 hours coding on their own...

I just recently started coding and right now I can code for a whole day. It's so damn fun. But I wouldn't really recommend doing that :) It's never good to do something focused at the computer for that long time. The brain gets kinda burned out.

Depend on your skill...!! if your skill in strong so you will do coding 8 hours in a day.

These days I can go on for 12-14 hours with small breaks.

25 minute sprints combined with 5 minute breaks.

I've had great success in my projects with these frequent (but not too much) microbreaks.
Few years ago I decided to make a game engine from scratch, by myself and with no internet.
Doing this saved my sanity lol.

Getting good sleep is essential. You are a liability and not an asset when your mind is fuzzy from a lack of sleep and rest.
But don't limit yourself to normal human hours. I sleep when I sleep, and wake when I wake. I let my body decide instead of my mind.

Most days I can handle an 8 hour shift without problem as long as I get a good lunch.
Usually drag on around 5th or 6th hour but find renewed energy the last 2 hours and don't want to stop because I love it.
Too many hours just degrades my mind to mush, but there are ways to recharge and push it when needed.
Sleep is just the healthier option.

For health 3 to 4 hours with gap is good for health. If I don't care about health then I can code for 12 to 16 hours each day.

It depends on how much coffee I have at my disposal. Usually it's unlimited, so I can keep on going for a long time. Productivity varies on a daily basis.

If it's about a project that make a lot of money, I can't sleep until I let the sh.. done :)

Now I can code 10 hours a day. It's all about motivation, discipline, positive thinking and how much you really need it.

I find I can program for 10+ hours quite easily, but that's if I'm making solid progress. As soon as I hit a roadblock my ability to continue is serverly diminished, then again there's nothing better to motivate you than to solve a problem that's been bugging you.

The longest time coding for me was 2 days straight without any sleep.

I can easily code for 36 hours a day. All you need is 2.5 Red Bulls/ hour.
