How many failed business ideas have you had?

Hey BHW, long time user but not very active when it comes to posting.

Just wanted to know, how many failed business ventures have you guys been on?

Working on starting my own web development business and slowly came to the realization it's too much for just me alone to handle, and I don't have any friends in the real world that know anything about SEO or web design.

This made me think of the last few ventures I've had that ended in a negitivity ROI, not a single profitable business.

(I did make a good amount of money doing CPA and Bing, but don't have anything to invest ATM to start new campaigns.)

So do you guys have any failure stories? If so, how did it help you learn?

Failures outweigh the successes 5:1, easily. As @nikchaing said above, lost count at this point.

Same with the others, I lost count too. But, we just have to remember to learn from them. Success has a lot of factors, one of them is learning from mistakes. I've been trying to have a business since highschool, and at that time the internet is not a common knowledge. I learned that you must first study the business you want to do.. like, do you have sufficient knowledge, is there a market, is the market sustainable, do you have time for it..

So in every failure, check where you've lapses. Then next time be sure to prepare for that.

i havent failed. but i tried PTC sites like neobux and shit, in 2012 when it was like all the trend. and im back again in 2017 i hope i dont get failed cause i cant afford it right now or i will quit again.

Ideas don't fail, businesses do.
Which business has failed and which not depends on your definition of failure.
I've had a lot of businesses that generated some revenue but didn't actually take off. I think of them as failed ones. At the same time, I used profit generated by them to live, travel the world, and buy stuff I wanted.

A business that yields negative ROI can also be either a failure or not. It's just a perspective. When you borrow money and put it all into a single idea that fails... it sucks. When you have a budget for validating multiple ideas and actually expect most of them to fail, it's just testing.

TL;DR: it's all your perspective.

It gets some ease of my shoulders seeing that I'm not alone in this. I feel like I read many success stories in IM but very rarely are there case studies that show people learning from there failures.

I have ideas for the mean time to generate some revenue, but I'm still determined to start an actual business and work with clients.

The key thing is not just giving up and moving over to another business idea in the first fail. If you know you niche is profitable, then don't give up, keep trying until you make it.

I always repeat myself this saying:

You're not a failure if you fail, you're a failure if you quit.

Fucking loads of bad ideas, some embarrassingly bad too.

However, you learn by your mistakes so take the good from the bad. I'm now able to work from home making good bank, only because I stuck at it and never gave up.

Don't look at bad ideas as (bad), look at them as ways to improves ones capabilities.

I've said the same thing before in another thread, but:

Without failure, you cannot know the true value of your success.

4 Failed ideas i actually tried and failed with but i have more ideas!

Plenty! I keep a folder of them but never open it haha!

I have never failed i just tried many things that didn't work!

I have lost count, but I learn from that.

Plenty, from products, services and IM. Bad decisions, lack of knowledge, inconsistency and bad luck. The worse was a sudden change in legislation when the completed sales process started coming through like popcorn, woke up one morning and business gone - it was a success but got taken away.

Actually a really good read, I had a similar venture but strictly vape items. Gave up on that for legal reasons as well, now I sell homemade e-juice out of my house. (Not much better but more low key lol)

My Story : Year 2007, Trapped by scheme Get paid by reading emails.. After 3 Months, Tried PTC Sites for 2 months ..

Middle 2007 , Started my own blogger 3 page blog . Joined Adsense and made 3200 USD by using trick (CPA) Was supported in adsense that time. Got First payment. After that 3 to 4 Account banned and finally i quit marketing .. Invested all Earned Money in Stock Market

Late 2007, Lost all Money Before Stock Market Crash and End up with debt of $200. Got Lucky , because my game was over before stock market crash else i would end up with debt of minimum $5000 because of high exposure offered by trading company.

Middle 2008 , Created Another blog .. Didn't knew about SEO shit , just keep posting on my blog and finally end up with 2000 articles within 3 months. Slowly start getting traffic (organic) . Joined Commission Junction and Made $1150 in just 2 weeks .. (Promoted Alibaba) and My bad , Alibaba Ended its promotion .

Late 2008 : Start begging for donation from my blog .. No Luck ..

Early 2009 : Used CPI : Made some luck with around $500 per month from it. Some Strong referrals made me $2000 .

Middle 2009 : I changed my Mentality Glass, Ditch My Innocence and Finally Started Tricking people with my blog. Joined NeverBlue ..

Start Tricking people .. First check was $550 approx..

Late 2009 : Scaled that trick : Reached $5000 per month..

Early 2010 : Joined Other CPA Network : Monthly Income Boosted to $10000.

Middle 2010 : Scaled that trick : Reached to $15000 per month..

Late 2010 : Scaled That trick : Reach to $20k Per month.

Early 2011: I reach to my limits .. Then Again Scaled my trick using Adword .. Reached $30K Per Month.

Middle 2011 : More Money Invested in Google $5000 per month only for adword expense : Reached to $48k Per month.. (Continued to 3 months) .. Ranked #12 Super Affiliate in NeverBlue Network.

Late 2011 : Till That Time , My Trick Got Saturated.. Many CPA Companies applied my trick with better technology and made it hyper saturated.

Early 2012 : Google Introduced SEO Animals , they did Group sex with my website .. But Adword was lovely..

Middle 2012 : Adword also fucked Me.

Early 2013 : Game Over.

But In the Mean Time , I made over .8 Million USD .. Pure Profit was around 0.75 Million Profits. Single Man Army. My monthly expense that time was merely $200 per month .. Bought Three Properties (1250sqft , 1500sqft , 3000sqft) ..

2013 TO 2016 : Wasted TIME and Money in Digital Printing Business (Fabric) .. End up with loss of $120k .

2016 : Tried My Old Tricks .. World is changed . . .

2017 : Trying Luck with Facebook . . . Got Little Success in Testing my Plans but still far from Earning.

Between 2016 and 2017. I tried many tricks but because of lack of knowledge (to implement my ideas) and Funds .. End up with loss of my limited budget .

I still have Few Ideas to implement but Still Looking to make some money First and Invest them to make a complete chain.

Note: My Best Idea is based on Crypto Currency that have potential to lead the Crypto Currency Market .. Still Surprised to see that no one is implementing that (Don't know its possible or not) But Worth to Try .. That's fascinating Aryan. I'm a beginner here but think my idea for promoting my Kindle book might not be too successful, will keep at it but it is a lower priority now. I'm going to put the experience I already have to good use and will launch something new in about 2 weeks time.

Failed more times than I can remember. But when I have success at anything its always built on what I learned from the failures.
