How many Exact search is good for microniche?

In the keyword tool how many exact searches is a good number to shoot for to get decent traffic?

Basically I am looking to buy domain it has 6,600 exact local searches monthly but the domain names is like $650 is this a go or no

I go with 3k+, anything below isn't worth your time unless high CPC or high payout of commissions.

I would say everything above CPC of $1+ and 1k+ local exact USA searches it's good.

3k+ seems more like mini-niche instead of micro-niche.

At least $1 CPC and 1,500+ Exact Searches for a Micro-Niche site.

I go with >1k local, <4k local, >1.5k global, <6.5k global, >$1 cpc.

I normally go for >6k

Not for adsense, but for affiliate sites.

If you choose keyword with 1000k monthly searches it will not have tough competition and you can rank it easy but you have to pick a couple of these types of keywords and build sites for them if you want to have decent earnings.

It depends on how much you're looking to earn! Try this formula:

Exact Local Monthly Searches X expected click through rate onto your site in SERPs X expected conversion / adsense clicks rate X amount you'll earn per conversion / click

Then think what it'll cost you to promote it, and the amount of your time it'll take up.

Save the money. Don't buy a domain for $650. Especially if you are new to the game.

Spend the money on articles/content and on tools/services.

What you learn buying services and doing SEO using the tools is a transferable skill. The domain? Not so much. Unless of course you are planning on building a brand around that domain name. In which case, it is a whole load of different, and $650 might be considered a bargain.

Don't spend $650 on a EMD man.

I say 10k + at least and those EMD's are really easy to find.

Google trends - find good new trends in new niche or old niches
Google keyword tool - find out the search volume
Godaddy - find if the domain is free

The going view is that exact searches/mo of 1-5000 with >$1 CPC is fine for a micro-niche, especially for 1-click monetization via adsense. For affiliate sales, you may want more in the minisite range (>10,000 exact searches/mo) due to the two step conversion needed to get a sale (visitors clicking to the landing page, then clicking again to order). You need 3 or more times as many visitors to give your funnel the volume needed to produce good sales conversion rates from your sites.

It's interesting formula but there's a lot of variables which are actually unknown and tough to predict. Calculation is good and give some insight but at the end you have to take the risk.

I would not spend $650 on an exact match domain site unless I was planning on making it into a big site and keeping it for the long run. Don't get hung up on exact match domains. It's a very small factor in the world of SEO. There is no guarantee that you will be able to rank all that much easier with it being exact match.

For me I look for exact match in any of the big three extensions. If I don't see it then I look at variations of the keywords or partial matches. On other sites I have gone with domains that I am branding and I don't focus on exact matches at all. One of my biggest money maker sites in the past dominated SERPs in the movie niche and it only had the word movie in the domain. Everything else was unrelated to my keywords. That site used to bring in 10-20K visitors a day.

If I were you I would save your money and spend it on quality SEO services and content and buy an $8 domain. Who knows you may do something stupid and get the site penalized and then what?
