Why so many domains if its not making money?

I've got over 50 domains, but I've been letting some expire after I didn't do anything with them. I know it's dumb and that I should have tried to sell them, but too many things to do and not enough time to do it.
Some good stuff in this thread to give some thought to. Maybe I can start getting some income from these sites again.

I currently own 1123 domains...but I am constantly buying more...and letting some expire.
Mostly adult domains since that is my primary business, but I have been lurking (and learning) here for a while. I am currently experimenting with several of the techniques learned here to help monetize my catalog of names. THANKS!
I am a pack rat, so I have never sold a domain, but I really thinking hard about pursuing this option with some of the "projects" that just aren't ever going to happen.
I use enom, moniker, and godaddy.

Say 5 or 800 domains, but are they worthy ???
Some guys own 1-3 domains only, and they are working/earning successfully.
What I mean is my advice to you members, specialize in a specific field in the IM world ... build your spot and develop it daily... if you have more time, build your second spot ...and so on. Working directly and randomly is a fault of many marketers, try to determine/plan your works.

I have 604 domains, 90 of which are fully functioning sites, the rest are parked on google domains.
I'm gonna switch those to auto gen blogs soon.
