How many do you unfollow per day?

I have never unfollowed people, Is there a rule of thumb on how many you should unfollow daily. My accounts are reaching 50k follows so I have to unfollow to continue following.

wow! i started early on this since week 1 on all my accounts....i set the settings so that it randomly unfollows anyone that didn't follow me back in 2-3 days from my follow. So an average of :
400 + my followers = following only..if i have 600 followers, the following is always 1100 or less. Do like me and stay safe! peace :)

Are you using a publicly available bot or something custom?

I do not use a bot I manage all my accounts manually. 1 account per IP.
 
For my new accounts I do about 300-600 per day. Will probably raise it next week if I don't get any bans. Still in the testing phase..
 
How long does it take to unfollow that many people? Seems like a lot of work.

These unfollow limits are what killed some major accounts I've had in the past. We've gotta share the unpublished limits we find, guys! :)
 
i'd take it easy if i were you, start with just a couple of hundred unfollowes per day and increase from there.... i heard people go up to 1000 unfollows per day, i wouldn't do more than 500 though, that number should be enough to keep you following but also small enough to keep you safe just in case anything happens.
 
If you are worried at all about the amount of unfollows you may have to make and that it may cause you a problem I would do it a little bit at a time over the course of a few days that way you don't face any kind of problems.
 
When I did mass-unfollowing, I did 500 per hour, through out the day. Never been banned, just blocked from unfollowing, for only an hour.
 
I have been known to unfollow 100's per day myself but if you are not confident enough to do that I would stick to a few per hour or even per day. It may take you longer but you will avoid any kind of problems.
 
I am really dubious about unfollowing too many so I always unfollow a set amount a day. Takes longer but it's safer than unfollowing a lot and getting a suspension on my account.
 
Ideally you wanna unfollow people as soon as they don't follow you back, so give it 2 to 3 days as a sort of "grace period", then just do it for everybody.
