Quick glance I'd say difficult, and ain't gonna happen in a few weeks. There are some big players on the front page and you'll need a serious PR "aged" website or an EMD and a few months of time.

joke, no one knows. It depends on the types of links you build, how fast they get indexed and if you build links to your links and of course how many links you get.

You owning a exact match domain will help a little.

I came from the security video industry having worked at the largest NA distributor/manufacturer for security cameras but I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Are you actually driving DIY camera systems leads as an affiliate? CCTV or IP?

those are pretty big keywords. might want to start with something smaller where there are less authority sites on page 1

Security is the better keyword for cameras. That said I took a quick look at the surveillance page and you are up against all the heavy hitters in the DIY industry so besides backlinks you got to also account for authority, the youngest by the way being from 2008. Still there a couple you could pick off with an aggressive campaign. Not that easy but doable.
