5-15 niche-relevant backlinks are enough to start. Mix it up with 2-3 guest posts,2-3 niche edits, and some natural links.

It depends on the competition. If the niche is low-competitive and the content quality is high, you can rank even without backlinks.

No fixed number, go to Ahrefs and do a search for the Top 5 competitors for the given keywords. There's a big difference between the industries.

From that I noticed, It is more about timing than numbers. sometimes just 2 to 3 fresh relevant links can push a page up if it is already close to ranking. other times, even more links do not move anything if the competition is strong.

There is no formula still found for this question. What matters the most is link quality, relevancy, and competition. That said, for some low-competition niches, you can easily push them to the top pages with only a few links, but for some niches, it won't work. All you need to do is be consistent and make a little adjustment in the strategy based on the analysis and understanding. That will open the gate.

It usually depends on competition. An ideal metric would be average number of backlinks of top 10 results after removing outliers. If there is Amazon in top 10 and others only had 4-5 backlinks, then you should target for 5 backlinks.

There’s no fixed number, but I don’t look at it like “how many links”, I look at when the page reacts. For low-volume keywords, I usually suggest with just a couple of solid links and then watch if impressions or positions move. If nothing happens, I add a few more.

Honestly, there’s no fixed number that guarantees movement because it really depends on your competition and current site strength. For low search volume keywords, even a small number of quality backlinks can make a difference. Instead of focusing on quantity like 10 PBNs or 10 guest posts, I’d focus more on relevance and authority. A few solid guest posts on niche-relevant sites plus some contextual links can outperform a bunch of low-quality PBN links. Also, mixing visible and non-visible links is fine, but natural-looking profiles usually work better long-term. According to my Exposure, There’s no fixed number of backlinks to move positions. Rankings don’t move based on number of links .They move based on relative strength vs competitors.
