How Many Backlinks from One Site?

If I place a link in the footer of a site that has over 1000 pages the link would be on every page. So 1000 backlinks. How does Google view this many backlinks from one site? Are all of them counted? They must be discounted in some way, right? Anybody have any insights? Thanks.

Footerlinks are "lowquality".

They are:

Masslinking
on the end of a site
normaly no content in the near

Its not worthless...but a link from 1 strong site in the content is more worth, than a link from 1 strong site in the footer.

I agree, they tend not to hold as much link quality due to them normally being spidered and dropped due to no follow or due to the end link not having much content on you at all.

Hmmm ...and i was happy that i got a good deal for a website with more than 1000 pages. What should i do .... to take it or not?

Would placing the link in the blogroll make any difference?

It will make a little difference due to it being closer to the content but if it is an offsite placement, you are better off focusing on places where you can link to more targeted listings.
